Bojagi became popular during the Josun Dynasty (Korea in 1392–1910) for carrying and wrapping things. Beautifully patterned Bojagi was used for wrapping precious gifts for special recipients. It symbolized wrapping a blessing. Today in Korea it’s used for joyous occasions such as weddings, when the family of the bridegroom gave gifts to the new bride.
